Skyler and the Mini Snowman

Yesterday we went to Grandma J's to open presents. They got snowed in on Christmas day and had to miss all the fun, so the fun went to them. After the kids were done opening presents they all went downstairs to play. Skyler and Spencer decided that they didn't want to play with dolls so they went outside. After a little while they came knocking at the door, Skyler was yelling "come see my snowman". We told him we would be there in just a minute. 5 minutes later Skyler came back to the door holding this...

His mini snowman. We were all laughing, and then he told us that he got tired of waiting for us but that he had another snowman for us to see...
Not as tiny as the first but still very small.

Ryann

Ryann has decided that she likes to do her own hair. If she ever finds a clippy laying around the house she puts it in her hair as fast as she can. She hit the jackpot on Christmas. I was doing Haileys hair when Ryann noticed I had the box of clippys down. She started grabing clippys and putting them in her hair as fast as she could. By the end she looked like this. She was so proud of it that I couldn't take them out.

Christmas 2008

Christmas Day was so much fun. It was so nice to just spend the day together. Christmas this year reminded me of Christmas when I was young. The whole day was Christmas, we went from house to house opening presents.
Hailey came into our room around 7:30 and wanted to show us the presents Santa left. I had to tell her that we needed to wake Ryann up first. Hailey went upstairs to go get Ryann and I went to go take Max out so we were ready to look in our stockings. Hailey brought Ryann down to our room and as you can see Ryann fell right back to sleep snuggled up to Daddy.

As soon as we got her to wake up again we went to see what was in our stockings.

Ryann wasn't quite awake yet in this picture.

Hailey showed Ryann how to open everything. I don't think Ryann was going fast enough for her. After we were all done we got dressed and ready to go to Taunya's house. My whole family was there, it was so much fun to be with everyone. We were all a little suprised when Dad showed up, it was a good suprise. It was so nice to be all together. Skyler met us at Taunya's so we could all open presents and have lunch.

The girls got a big barbie house from Grandma and Grandpa, they loved it. After lunch and playing the wii for a bit we headed home to open more presents. With Skyler home he got to open his stocking and we all got to open the presents under the tree.

Skyler loves to get clothes.

And here is Daddy passing out presents. I had so many cute pictures it was hard to just pick a few.

Christmas Eve

We had so much fun on Christmas Eve. It was the first one we have had with no other family around, so it was just our little family. I was able to make a nice dinner, I know I was shocked too. Chris took my Dad's place and read the Christmas story to us and then it was time to open one present. The kids were so excited.

I tried to get Ryann to take a nap earlier in the day but she wouldn't stay in bed. So as a last ditch effort to get her to stay I told her that if she didn't take a nap that Santa wouldn't come. She got a very worried look on her face and said "I don't want Santa", I started laughing at her and so she never took a nap. She was very worried the rest of the day about this Santa person.

Once the girls opened their P.J.'s they wanted them on. So here they are in P.J.'s

Snow Snow Everywhere!

It snowed several inches today so of course everyone wanted to go out and play in it. After 30 minutes of getting the girls bundled up there were ready to go out. Skyler and his friend Walker agreed to sled with them for a little bit, then they would get to go to the big hill. The girls loved it.
Ryann would stay in the sled when she got to the bottom of the hill and let Skyler try to push her up. I don't know that Skyler loved it, and Ryann kept falling off the back as Skyler was pulling her up but she was happy no matter what.
The boys got tired of pushing the girl around so they went to the big hill. I got some shovels and things for the girls to play with to keep them happy. Ryann had a boot problem that needed to be fixed, while I was fixing it Hailey told me they were building sand castles. I don't know if they ever found any sand but they sure had fun.

The Chef

Skyler is the new chef in the family. Last week was his first week off track, so he decided to make french toast for everyone. He did it all himself. He always has so much fun. That same week he also made muffins and more french toast. I am hoping that one day soon he will be able to make dinner for the family.

Wow I have a blog!

Well this is my first blog. After a rocky start trying to think of a name, it's a good thing Melissa J was finally able to help me, here we are. This may be a bad time to start a blog with all the holiday stuff going on but I am going to try. If things don't go well and I have a hard time posting regularly please forgive me. This picture is a year old but I am just learning to post a picture so I will put more up as soon as I figure it all out.
